Yesterday, we had the pleasure of visiting with Chelsea Wolf and The Bowmanville Older Adult Association<\/a>\u00a0at their last luncheon of the year where we were also entertained by the local BOAA Theatre group.\u00a0 \u00a0This is a great organization that promotes the health and happiness of our elderly population (55 and up).<\/p>\n

As our citizens age and we see it continue to be the largest demographic Canada-wide, it was nice to see an organization that directly addresses the specific needs of our older generation.<\/p>\n

About Bowmanville Older Adult Association<\/h3>\n

The Bowmanville Older Adult Association is a new, federally incorporated non-profit organization that offers social, active and educational programs to older adults in Clarington.<\/p>\n

Mission Statement<\/h3>\n

To promote the health and happiness of older adults by providing opportunities to enhance their quality of life.<\/p>\n

We observed a real sense of community.<\/p>\n

Everyone was very friendly, and there was no shortage of camaraderie between members, volunteers and staff.<\/p>\n

We even had a visit by the Hon. Erin O’Toole<\/a>, who was raised in Bowmanville<\/p>\n

We are excited to be working with the BOAA, and will be sharing details as we move forward.<\/p>\n
